Men Are From Mars

Men are from Mars, women are from Venus, the famous relationship book by John Gray. I mention this now because life is teaching me just how true this really is. It’s one of life’s little irony’s that the relationship between a man and women is so important yet so complicated. We really do speak different languages. I’m am writing this article not so much to offer advice (goodness knows I need it as much as anybody), but to recommend the “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus” series of books to anybody and everybody who will take the time to read them! It never ceases to amaze me how differently men and women perceive the world, process and interpret information, communicate and generally have completely different needs and desires to each other. We are just so different it boggles my mind.

We truly are different species and without an understanding and knowledge of each other, it’s difficult for me to see how a relationship can thrive and grow successfully. So many difficulties arise from two people wanting the same outcome but just going about things in two different ways. I firmly believe so many relationships could be turned around for good, if only we understood each other better.

After reading these books the haze seems to clear a little and more and more starts to make sense. In some ways it’s even a little painful to read as you begin to see the mistakes made in the past and how easily they could have been avoided. Past situations take on new light and a clarity begins to grow.

Having a life coaching site that deals with relationships makes it difficult sometimes for me personally to admit that I need help with my relationships as much as anybody...there certainly is an added pressure there to get it right. The reality is though we all get it wrong from time to time and we could all use a helping hand and some guidance. The John Gray books are the best that I have found but I am eager to find more.
